How I’m Spending My Summer “Vacation”
Picture this: it’s a gorgeous sunny day in Rhode Island and I’m on the ferry to Gansett Island. Joe and Seamus are SO happy to have me coming back to the island that they insisted on co-captaining my ferry. Who am I to say no to TWO hot guys, especially the one with the Irish brogue? Swoon. Anyway, I digress. I’m here to tell you that as of today, I’m free and clear to spend the summer in my favorite place: Gansett Island! The new Fatal book is done, so I turn my full attention today to Gansett, where I plan to finish Love After Dark (already well under way) and another Gansett surprise for later this year (I hope). Going back to the title of this blog, I think of this as summer vacation because Gansett is always my favorite fictional place to be, especially in the summer. I’ve got a nice chunk of time coming up that’s fully devoted to Gansett. Feels like vacation to me! I’ll keep you posted about the progress of Love After Dark, and we’ll soon be revealing the very special cover of book 13 in the Gansett Island Series! Stay tuned!

Very excited to share today that my cousin Jennifer Barrera is one of the three Harlequin More Than Words winners! Jen will receive a $15,000 cash prize for her organization, Lucy’s Hearth, which supports homeless women and children in our hometown of Middletown, RI. Jen works tirelessly on behalf of the women and children she serves as the program director at Lucy’s Hearth. I couldn’t be happier for her and I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all my readers and followers who voted over the last couple of weeks. We couldn’t have done this for Jen or Lucy’s Hearth without your amazing support! Also a special thank you to Cheryl Serra on my team, who helped with the nomination package and did such a great job showcasing Jennifer’s amazing work. Thank you everyone!!!
Finally, this happened this morning. Taye Diggs followed me on Twitter! Not a bad way to start the day, especially a day in which Stella is getting her groove back on Gansett Island! 🙂 (If you haven’t seen How Stella Got Her Groove Back, check it out and you’ll find out why I think Taye Diggs is H-O-T!)
