The Cat is Out of the Bag
Before I get to the cat and its exit from the proverbial bag, I want to say a HUGE thank you to all the readers who made the Love After Dark release day yesterday so amazing! The book is in the top 50 at Kindle, the top 5 at Nook and the top 10 at iBooks. That’s a pretty great first day. I’m thrilled to hear that readers are loving Paul and Hope’s sizzling and sweet love story as well as the reunion with the rest of the Gansett Island cast. In Love After Dark, you get to visit with past favorites and a few new couples are “born” too. And at the end, you find out about Celebration After Dark, the long-awaited story for our series patriarch and matriarch, Big Mac and Linda McCarthy, aka the cat that’s out of the bag. Readers have been asking for their story for as long as I’ve been writing the series, and in honor of their 40th anniversary, I give you Celebration After Dark, in which you will read about their love story while each of their five children (and one of his brothers) confront new challenges in their own lives. It’s Christmas time on Gansett, and there’s lots to celebrate. I absolutely love the couple on the cover of Celebration. They look just like I picture Big Mac and Linda in my mind. I started writing this story during a “vacation” this summer, and my family and friends were making fun of me because my idea of a “vacation” is to write more Gansett Island. That’s how much I love these people and our little island.
I also want to remind you that this week is your FIRST of THREE chances to READ TO WIN a trip to my 2016 Reader Weekend in Newport, RI. Right after the final sentence of the Epilogue in Love After Dark, you will find a link to the fun 20-question quiz you need to complete to enter into the drawing for an all-expense-paid trip for two to Reader Weekend, June 24-26, 2016 in my hometown. The trip includes the day trip to the real-life Gansett Island, Block Island, RI (weather permitting). I’ll also be marking my 50th birthday in June of next year, and I want you there to help me celebrate! The Love After Dark READ TO WIN contest ENDS at midnight EDT on August 22, so make sure you get the new book this week to enter the contest. If you bought the print or audio edition and wish to enter the contest, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for instructions. You’ll have two other chances to READ TO WIN when Fatal Frenzy is released on September 15 and when It’s Only Love comes out on Nov. 3. To get the quiz info for those books, you will need to be on my email newsletter mailing list. Go to marieforce.com and sign up on the lefthand side where it asks for your name and email. Good luck to everyone who enters the READ TO WIN contests!
Thanks so much for your continued support of Gansett Island. I’m truly astounded at the response to this new book, and I can’t wait to finish Celebration After Dark and to write the next Gansett book, featuring a couple that was “born” in Love After Dark. To chat about the new book, come join the fun in the Love After Dark Reader Group.
